I am a Vancouver-based illustrator that simply wanted a place to share my art without worrying about it getting buried on social media. With the way Twitter has been going I decided to create a separate place instead so that if anyone was interested in visiting or revisiting my work there would be an easier way to find this work.I also like to document works and like to keep them as accessible as possible. I have a backlog of photos from over a decade as well as various artworks and other creative projects. With the current subscription based models and fleeting trends that are increasingly harder for me to keep up, I want to preserve much of my older works as a way to showcase my journey both in its polished and haphazard states.I also have various obsessions I feel are noteworthy of archival; however, would bloat the other platforms I am currently active in. There are piles of character development that would often be missed or fragmented if I were to post on a place like Bluesky. I am also fond of the "amateurish" approach to creating a simple website for my artistic endeavors. I can't say I don't feel nostalgic for the early Internet days where sites were colourful, even when outdated, had a tacky quality which I don't see as often on contemporary sites.
